I thought I'd share this on my blog. I entered this photo in the Landscape category for Pacific Lutheran University's study away students' photo contest. I took home the bragging rights of first place, a $50 gift card to Target, and a framed copy that will be hanging up in PLU's University Center.

Drak Yerpa is a Buddhist hermitage located up in the Himalayan Mountains about 50 miles outside of the city of Lhasa, Tibet. I traveled there to see some of the most simple-living Tibetans practicing their religiously dedicated lifestyles. There are over 80 Buddhist caves used for meditation. It was truly a place of peace and mystery.
